We analyzed a list of all the initial public offerings (IPOs) stocks for 2023, financial data, patent lists, research and development spending (R&D), and tech greenhouse gas emissions. Specifically, we looked at how much Artificial Intelligence (AI) companies contributed to each of these areas. This post shares our findings and provides a detailed look into the metrics, methodology, sources, and resources we used.
We looked at the top 5 AI ETFs by Assets Under Management (AUM) in 2024 and curated a complete list of the top AI stocks:
In 2023, 154 companies made an initial public offering (IPO). An IPO is when a private company lists shares on a stock exchange, allowing the general public to invest in that company.
All public companies in the US have to file and disclose information to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) so the public can access financial and other information about the business (audited quarterly and annually). This is crucial for transparency and accountability.
We analyzed the IPO list and found that 33% (50 companies) were AI companies. Company name, Website, and Financial data are listed below.
