“Get Undetectable AI Assignments and Essays with 99% Human Scores”
It’s time for another AI humanizer review, with uPass being the tool under the microscope.
We’ve reviewed a number of AI bypasser and AI humanizer tools including, PassMe.ai, Rewritify AI, and Tenorshare AI to determine just how effective these tools are at bypassing AI detection.
Now, let’s find out whether uPass is a tool that can bypass AI detectors.
Similar to other AI humanizers, uPass is a subscription-based tool that claims to turn users' AI-generated content into content that bypasses AI detectors.
In particular, uPass claims to make text undetectable for an educational setting, “Convert your AI assisted assignments, essays or papers into undetectable content with uPass AI.”
There can be no denying that producing essays, assignments, or content can be stressful. So, it’s no surprise that there’s interest in making AI-text undetectable.
However, with colleges using AI detection, it’s more important than ever for students and educators to establish clarity and pursue transparency around AI use for assignments.
Further, students and educators should clarify whether an assignment requires citations for AI use, so everyone is on the same page.
We decided to put uPass to the test for ourselves, to see if the tool really works or not.
Step 1: We began by generating our example article with ChatGPT so that we have content we can paste into uPass.
Step 2: Then, we copied and pasted the ChatGPT-generated content into three popular AI content detectors; Originality.ai, Writer, and GPTZero, to get our benchmark scores.
Step 3: Then, we pasted that content into uPass, allowing the tool to produce a ‘humanized’ version.
Step 4: Finally, we then took that new content and pasted it into the detectors, to see how the scores compared.
Sample prompt:
"Write an engaging and informative article on the topic: 'How to Hit Your Irons Well in Golf.' The article should be beginner-friendly yet provide value to intermediate players. Cover key aspects such as the importance of proper stance, grip, and alignment, as well as tips for achieving solid contact and improving accuracy. Include practical drills and exercises to practice these techniques. Discuss common mistakes golfers make when using irons and how to avoid them. End with advice on selecting the right irons and how to use them effectively for different types of shots. Use a conversational tone and include examples for better understanding."

Original content (ChatGPT-4 generated): 100% Probability the text is AI
uPass Humanizer version: 23% Probability the text is AI
Original content (ChatGPT-4 generated): 12% AI & 88% Human-written
uPass Humanizer version: 1% AI & 99% Human-written
The verdict? uPass was unable to bypass the Originality.ai AI detector, which confidently identified the content as AI-generated.
The text that uPass generated produced long-winding sentences, changed the tone of the writing in some sections, added unnecessary additional words, and further, the results don’t have the best grammar either.
So, not only was uPass unable to bypass Originality.ai, but it also produced overly wordy sentences that reduced the clarity of the content.
Learn more about AI detection:
You can ‘humanize’ as many as 300 words for free without a subscription. When you register your email address, you can get another 300 words but can only ‘humanize’ 80 words at a time. For more access, the platform requires users to pay for a monthly membership.
After our first-hand research using uPass, we found that the tool created content that was often grammatically incorrect or incoherent. Further, it was still detectable by the industry-leading Originality.ai AI detector.
The ethical aspect of AI content generation is completely situational, but we always recommend you offer full transparency on your AI use for your audience.
