Content is vital if you run a website. But with the emergence of AI writing tools and automated content creation, it’s becoming increasingly more work to guarantee the quality and originality of content on your site.
Plagiarism has long been the number one enemy of webmasters. However, with the widespread availability of AI content generation tools, machine-generated content is now an equal, if not greater concern.
After all, you want your content to achieve a good ranking in Google search results. In Google’s August 2022 helpful content update, the search engine giant indicated that they will penalize any content that might sound unnatural and seem to be AI-generated.
In other words, you need assurance that the content you are putting on your website is not AI-generated. That’s where AI detection tools like PoemOfQuotes come in.
Today, we will explore what PoemOfQuotes offers and how it compares to other AI content detection tools.
Before going into detailed performance analysis and comparison, let’s quickly run through the top features of PoemOfQuotes.
Now it’s time to put PoemOfQuotes to the test and weigh it against other competitors, like Originality.ai. For this purpose, we decided to use text samples from seven entirely AI-written articles. Jasper.ai, one of the most popular AI writing platforms, generated our test samples.
So, we already know that our sample texts are AI-generated. Now we want to see whether PoemOfQuotes can detect it, too. Simultaneously, we also want to learn whether it can offer a more promising performance than Originality.ai.
First, we scanned all of our sample content with Originality.ai. Since Originality.ai supports URL and domain scanning, we didn’t have to copy and paste the individual texts manually. Instead, we provided Originality.ai with the link for scanning and had our results ready quickly.
Now, it’s time to repeat the process for PoemOfQuotes. Unfortunately, we came across a few problems that required us to improvise. Firstly, PoemOfQuotes did not let us copy the full text of our articles in one go, as the allowed word limit is 200. To work around this, we randomly picked essential parts from each piece and used that for our interpretation.
PoemOfQuotes also displays results differently from Originality.ai. Originality.ai gives you a specific AI detection score. That score indicates the probability of having AI content within your test sample. But PoemOfQuotes does not give you a clear score.
Instead, the platform shows only two different variations of results – 1) the text appears to be AI-generated, and 2) the text appears to be human-generated.
Although we couldn’t compare the tools’ performance in a straightforward way, we’ve summed up the results in the table below. Let’s take a look.
Originality.ai’s 100% score means that there is a 100% probability of your content being AI-generated. Keeping that in mind, you can see that Originality.ai correctly found AI content in five of seven samples.
On the other hand, PoemOfQuotes detected AI texts in four out of seven samples. Unfortunately, as PoemOfQuotes does not show a probability score, we couldn’t calculate an average detection score.
That said, this comparison table still helps you get a sense of the capabilities and detection accuracy of the platforms.
Moving on from our comparison test results, now let’s review how PoemOfQuotes delivers, considering features and usability.
Originality.ai, on the other hand, lets you use their services with pay-as-you-go pricing, which is super convenient for most users.
Despite quite a few disadvantages, we need to praise PoemOfQuotes for a few benefits. The most important one is the free pricing. You do not have to open an account or pay anything. You can scan your text in seconds and get an idea of AI presence.
Moreover, we also found the overall user experience pleasant. There’s no complicated, technical terminology or explanations. All you get is a simple statement indicating the presence of AI content in your text.
If you need to look for AI content in a small paragraph or two, without any serious content analysis needed, you don’t have to go further than PoemOfQuotes. But when there is plenty of content, PoemOfQuotes might disappoint you with word restrictions and the way it redirects you to another platform. You might want to opt for Originality.ai for your AI content detection needs in those cases.
