Before we dive straight in, let’s take a second to explain what the Ahrefs AI detector is.
Ahrefs is a leading brand in SEO and content marketing. Its free AI detector is designed to help users identify AI-generated content, either for publishers or content creators.
When it comes to online content authenticity, consumers and publishers are looking for a tool that they can rely on. They want a detector they can trust, and given the incredible reputation that Ahrefs has in the content marketing industry, it’s easy to see why there is demand for this tool.
With all that in mind, we decided to put the Ahrefs tool to the test.
For our test, we wanted to look at multiple forms of content to see whether or not Ahrefs can actually detect AI content.
Step 1: We created three prompts in ChatGPT before inputting them back into the tool to get our test content, all of which is 100% AI generated and should therefore flag as such in each tool.
Step 2: We then pasted the outcome content into the Ahrefs tool and Originality.ai AI detector to test and compare results.
For the test, we will look at three types of content:
